The names of the grips in this tutorial represent my personal use!
1. “Dealers Grip” is often used synonym with “Mechanics Grip”. Because of that I call “Magicians Grip” what actually should be called “Mechanics Grip” in my opinion.
2. Furthermore I use “Mechanics Grip” for the grip, that usually and very often is called “Straddle Grip” or “Straddle Position”.
In CONCLUSION the grips presented in this tutorial can be named with a different system:
A) Dealers Grip = Dealers Grip
B) Mechanics Grip = Straddle Grip
C) Magician Grip = Mechanics Grip
This might even be the better naming system. This got to my attention thanks to Philafxs explanatory notes in the comment section below. He suggests the following naming system:
A) Full Grip, B) Straddle Grip & C) Dealers/Mechanics Grip
I say, whatever works for you guys! 😉 As long as we agree on the main subject: And that is to be aware of the differences in position and purpose of these basic grips.
